The Atalanta Effect was born out of my quest to find a way to link my love of running, my passion for mentoring and guiding other women, and my commitment to social justice. After some two decades wondering why running coaches never seemed to understand the complexity of my life and the lives of most women I know, and after even more decades committed to fighting for inclusion, equity and representation for women in all areas of life, I decided to create a “coaching” space that operates from a place of compassion for and celebration of the multi-faceted and always-in-transition lives of so many women I’ve met the world over. The Values that Guide my Work with You

I believe:

Running is a metaphor for and a tool to face life challenges of all sorts

Running is for everyone of every size, shape and hue at every stage of life.

It is important that the running community reflects the diversity of the places we live and work.

If you run, you are a runner.

Running is physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, with an emphasis on the last three.

Running is a powerful teacher.

Running can connect us to others; and running connects us more deeply to ourselves.

Running makes us feel competent and strong, and reminds us to love what our bodies can do.

The journey is to be celebrated.

It is a blessing to be able to run.

My job is to amplify your fabulousness.

You should absolutely cry on a run, laugh on a run, dance on a run, stop and smell the flowers on a run…and it is fun to run in the rain!
